How it Works

From creating your account to viewing your child's schedule — here's the whole journey.

Getting started

  1. Create an account

    Sign up for a Lawrence Special Activities account to access all features. You'll need to provide basic contact information to get started.

    *Please only create one account per family/child — we will be adding the ability to add additional parents/guardians soon.

  2. Add your children

    Add your children's information to your account. This includes their name, grade level, and teacher information.

Enrollment process

The enrollment process is a lottery, followed by open enrollment for any remaining spots.

  1. Preview classes ("Sneak Peek")

    During the preview period, you can browse all available classes for the upcoming enrollment period. This gives you time to discuss options with your children before enrollment opens.

  2. Submit enrollment requests

    When enrollment opens, submit requests for the classes your children want to take. You can rank your preferences to increase the chances of getting into preferred classes.

  3. Lottery & open enrollment

    After the enrollment period closes, a lottery process assigns students to classes based on availability, rank-choice selections, and sibling preferences. An email will be sent with the lottery results and deadlines for accepting or declining classes. Any remaining class spots will be available for open enrollment following the lottery.

    *You may lose your spot if you fail to accept classes by the deadline date.

Finishing enrollment

  1. Accepting classes

    Review the classes your children have been approved for in the lottery and accept or decline each class. When you accept a class, your spot is reserved and payment will be automatically processed using your stored payment method once the class reaches minimum capacity.

    If a class does not reach minimum capacity, it may be canceled. In the event of a cancellation, you will be notified and the class will be removed.

  2. Automatic payment processing

    After you accept a class and it reaches the minimum enrollment, payment will be automatically processed using your stored payment method. If you have applied for financial aid, payment will be held until your application has been reviewed. Don't worry, your spot will be held until then!

  3. View your schedule

    You can view your schedule at any time to see your children's complete schedule, including class dates, times, and locations for any paid classes. Your schedule will be updated automatically as you enroll in new classes and can be synced to your personal calendar.
